Success - Essay Example The definition of success comprises of elements including happiness, health and conquering hardships. One way of identifying how successful an individual is by identifying the level of happiness experienced by that individual. Happiness can be attained through various means, while some people may find happiness in helping others and on the other hand some may experience happiness due to attaining huge amount of wealth and a flashy lifestyle. Individuals who tend to attain happiness through materialistic gains tend to experience happiness for a shorter period of time. While individuals who gain happiness by helping others may experience happiness for a longer period of time. This means that success is short lived if human beings are happy due to their materialistic gains and success is prolonged if that attain happiness through helping others. Another factor that should be taken into account while defining success is the health of a particular individual. Health is very important for an individual to benefit from all of his achievements. An individual may not feel successful if he/she or his/her family members are not healthy. An individual works hard with the aim of gaining wealth in order to provide joy and a comfortable life to themselves and their family members. If an individual or their family members can not enjoy that wealth, an individual may feel unsuccessful. Success can even be defined in terms of an individualââ¬â¢s ability to conquer the obstacles that they face in their lives. An individual who does not work hard in order to earn money and uses shortcuts to attain wealth may be less satisfied with the wealth as compared to an individual who has worked hard and dedicated his/her life for the achievement of aims and objectives.
